취재 제목 : Gyeonggijeon in Jeonju-city
문화재 취재내용 :
Jeonju – As the capital of Post-Baekje the dynasty that Gyeonhwon established in 900 and the birthplace of the 500 years long Joseon dynasty, Jeonju used to be the center of history that burgeoned two dynasties. As has been proven through the past history of millennium, Jeonju is a hub city with styles enshrining the most korea traditional cultures like hanok, hansik and hanji each of which represent the traditional Korean housing, Korean food and Korean paper the foundations of traditional living styles.
Gyeonggijeon – The whole area contains many historic relics and artifacts including Gyeong-gijeon, built to preserve the portrait of King Taejo Yi Seong-gye, founder of the Joseon dynasty, Originally, Gyeonggijeon was a gigantic building accompanying many attached buildings, but it lost the half of the land during the Japanese occupation and the annexes were removed, Gyeonggijeon has been restored and there are King Yejong’s Placenta Stupa and Stele, and Jeonju sago housing the Joseon Wangjosilrok. On the back of the building is located Jogyeongmyo enshrining the memorial tablets of Yi Han, a progenitor of Jeonju Yi family, and his wife.
느낀 점 :
In Jeonju (and this is basically why I even decided to go) the bus took us to the hanok village; an area of Jeonju where traditional style one story buildings made of wood with tile roofs are still common. We walked around the streets, and checked out the scenery, a couple hanji (paper) making workshop/factories and their associated gift shops, a calligraphy museum, some other craft halls and had a marvelous lunch. The best part of the entire Jeonju experience (except for the lunch which was just the type of ordinary home-cooking I love) was our visit to the Gyeonggijeon with a shrine for Taejo, the founder of the dynasty. The inside of Gyeonggijeon was just as run over with visitors but the area was far larger and the birds were chirping, the sun shining and the new leaves were practically unfurling as we watched.
